We are confident that your Crystal CS500 chassis will meet or exceed your expectations of what a fault-tolerant, industrial computer chassis should accomplish. Crystal computers are not only the smallest industrial computer chassis in the world, they are designed to provide superior performance and reliability. The Crystal CS500 is a compact five-slot computer in a 8.75" (5U) high by 4.35" chassis that can be rackmounted or used as a stand alone unit. The CS500 consists of a steel chassis/enclosure, a power supply, and a passive backplane. Hard drives and floppy drives also can be included if specified. A SBC (Single Board Computer) CPU processor card plugs into the edge-card connectors on the backplane.

Each CS500 computer features:

• A five-slot passive backplane with five ISA/PCI configurations. Custom backplanes available.

• Three 3.5-inch low profile (1" H) drive bays, one with external access, suitable for floppy disk drives,

low-profile hard drives and high-capacity removable media (LS120, Iomega ZIP, Flash RAM cards,

tape drives).

• A power supply.

• One 17 CFM and one 25 CFM fan to allow no more than a 10°C rise above ambient temperature.

• A compact form factor: 8.75" (H) x 4.35" (W) x 16.91" (D); 17.9" (D) with handle or 22.23 cm (H) x

11.01 cm (W) x 42.95 cm (D); 45.47 cm (D) with handle. Four CS500 computers can be mounted in a

single rack adapter, allowing up to 32 individual PCs to fit in a standard 19-inch or 23-inch rack system.

• Alarm-equipped or non-alarm versions available.
