Manufacturer – Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Building Works (KZTS), Kramatorsk.
Condition: the machine tool is complete; installation of modern element base of electrical equipment was performed. After installation and commissioning the machine tool is ready for operation. It complies with passport accuracy requirements.
General description: heavy lathe model 1682A is designed for various lathe work. Processing of steel and cast-iron parts with high-speed steel cutting tools or with carbide-tipped tools can be done on it.
The machine tool is a lightweight model of universal heavy duty lathes range.
Construction rigidity, high power of main drive, high spindle speed allow performing rough and fine turning operations fully using capabilities of carbide-tipped tools.

The following operations can be performed on this heavy lathe: turning of cylindrical surfaces; processing of conical surfaces at longitudinal slide traverse or by combined feed method; metric and inch screw threads cutting, boring, facing, parting,
radius turning and chamfering.
Bed has a rigid construction with four rectangular guides. Between the guides there are spaces for chip exit and foundation channels.

Gearbox is three-stage. Gear shifting is done by means of hydraulic cylinders. Spindle is mounted on sliding bearings.

By its parameters heavy duty lathe model 1682A is designed to be used in heavy machinery plants. Workpieces can be processed both between centers and being mounted on faceplates of headstock and tailstock. Wide ranges of main motor stepless speed and feed provide high performance and effective use of the machine tool and tools in various processing operations.
