Once you have pressed the Send button we will contact the Seller and confirm they wish to proceed with the transaction. If they agree, we will send you a SafeSale transaction document for you to review containing the terms and conditions relating to the transaction.

How Does it Work?
  • Buyer and Seller agree terms The terms of the transaction are agreed between the buyer and seller. This includes a description of the equipment, the condition, price, shipping cost and whether or not it is agreed that the buyer has a return period. Kitmondo will put all this information into a final transaction document for both parties to review and sign.
  • Buyer sends payment to Kitmondo Buyer sends full payment to Kitmondo by wire transfer. Kitmondo verifies funds are correct and cleared.
  • Seller ships the equipment Kitmondo authorizes the seller to release the equipment and provides all parties with a tracking number for the shipment. Kitmondo confirms when the buyer has received the equipment.
  • Buyer accepts or rejects the equipment (if a return period has been agreed) Buyer confirms to Kitmondo that the equipment meets or does not meet the agreed description and condition.
  • Kitmondo remits funds to the Seller or refunds the Buyer If the buyer accepts the equipment Kitmondo sends payment to the seller. If the buyer does not accept the equipment then buyer returns the equipment to the seller and is refunded in full.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use SafeSale for national and international transactions? Yes, you can use SafeSale to buy and sell from local, national or international companies.

What currencies does SafeSale accept? You can complete a SafSale transaction in US$, Euro or British pounds. Each transaction can only have one currency so, for example, if the buyer pays Kitmondo in US$, Kitmondo will remit US$ to the seller.

What happens if the equipment is faulty or damaged? If both parties have agreed to a return period, the buyer has the opportunity to return the equipment to the seller if they discover it to be faulty, damaged or if it does not match the original description.

Tell me more about the return period If both parties agree, a SafeSale transaction can include a set period (usually 3 or 5 days) during which the buyer can inspect the equipment once it has been delivered. If the buyer rejects the equipment during this period, it can be returned and the buyer's payment refunded.

What if no return period agreed is agreed? If there is no return period agreed, the transaction is deemed completed upon delivery of the equipment to the buyer's premises.

Who is responsible for shipping the equipment? The seller can ship the equipment or the buyer can arrange collection. The buyer and seller should discuss and agree this before a SafeSale transaction begins.

Can I use any shipping company? We can only accept SafeSale transactions if the equipment is shipped by a company that provides online tracking. It is important we are able to verify when equipment has been delivered so we insist on online tracking.

Do I get to find out who the other party is? Yes. Once we have started your SafeSale transaction we will send you an overview document containing the buyer and seller's information. You are free to contact each other directly to confirm any information.

How is the SafeSale service free?The costs of providing the SafeSale service are included in the commission fee we receive from the seller.
