Heidelberg - CTP Machines
Heidelberg CTP (Computer to Plate) machines are part of the range of printing machines manufactured and distributed by German based Heidelberg. Main production is in Germany, another is in Shanghai for the Chinese product range.
The Heidelberg CTP range was launched in the late 1980s with the Prosetter range. The Prosetter prototypes came with the ability to handle, on a semi-automatic basis, 6 plates per hour. By the early 2000’s, with the Prosetter 102 setting onto photopolymer plates, the speed increased to 12 plates per hour and precision and automation increased with the introduction of Gecko Plate processors. The Prosetter 74, launched in 2005, has an automatic cassette loading process and can handle 100 plates.
The current range of Heidelberg CTP machines is the Suprasetter range, launched in 2007, with the Suprasetter E105 CTP machines, able to handle 150 plates automatically. The current offering has a range of semi compact machines such as the A52 or A75 up to major industrial automatic machines such as the 106UV or 145.
The Suprasetter provides high quality printing output, maximum availability, expandable modularity and high flexibility as well as automatic integration into the Prinect print shop workflow working alongside many software formats. Heidelberg offers a full range of refurbishment, upgrades, after sales, parts, software support, installation and consultation services on its CTP range.
