Used Werner & Pfleiderer model ZSK58 co-rotating twin screw extruder. New in 1993. Extruder is equipped with vented 33:1 L/D barrel with (8) barrel sections. Extruder reported with extremely limited use in lab trials only.
Extruder is an (8) barrel section machine including:
(2) open barrel sections
(6) closed barrel sections
extruder is equipped with a 125 HP DC motor with Reliance SCR control rated at 150 HP at 460 volt. Motor is direct connected to gearbox model 048F960, Gearbox is rated at 104 kW at 1750 rpm input supplying 513 rpm output.
Extruder has electrically heated and water cooled barrel and includes temperature control panel as well as water tempering system for barrel cooling.
Includes multi-component Gravimetric accurate feeding system.
Spare screw elements included.
Without screen changer or melt pump included.
