De dieptrekmachine is ontworpen voor het produceren van diepgetrokken gevormde onderdelen met behulp van verwarmde plastic folie. De machine is voorzien van een gecontroleerde afroller om de plastic folie van een rol te voeren en een getande transportband voor automatisch transport door de machine. In het verwarmingsstation wordt de folie van boven en van onderen verwarmd, vervolgens wordt deze onder vacuüm en met perslucht in een matrijs getrokken om te worden diepgetrokken. Na afkoeling worden de buitencontouren bijgesneden en worden de individuele plano's op hun plaats gehouden door vasthoudkragen. In het stapelstation worden de productplano's uit de folie geperst en op een transportband gestapeld, die ze na het bereiken van een ingestelde hoeveelheid uit de machine transporteert. Het hele proces is geautomatiseerd op basis van geprogrammeerde specificaties, behalve het handmatig verwijderen van afgewerkte werkstukken aan de uitlaat. De trim- en stapelstations kunnen worden aangepast aan verschillende productformaten en de machine bevat sensoren om verschillende aspecten van het proces te bewaken.
