The Used Angenieux Optimo Anamorphic 44-440 A2S anamorphic zoom lens offers an aperture of T4.5 across the zoom range without concern about loss of quality which is unusual for such a long range lens.
It has a close focus of 4ft 1in (1.24m), and is one of the lightest lenses in its class at 16.6 lbs (7.55kg). It features built-in encoders providing metadata (focus, zoom, T-stop) via the industry standard /i Technology interface paveloped by Cooke

The creative virtues of anamorphic lenses have become even more important in the digital age, where cinematographers are seeking a distinctive look to enrich every project. The Angénieux anamorphic zoom lenses add a dimensional character to the image with the traditional 2x squeeze, with controlled background and an aesthetically dimensional foreground, yet minimizing breathing and distortion by adopting a modern optical design. The lens provides the specifications that made the Optimo 44-440 A2S lens so popular and some different image characteristics.

The IRO technology – innovative and modular lens design

The Optimo 42-420mm A2S also features IRO (Interchangeable Rear Optics) technology, which is a modular lens design that enables different lens configurations. It was first introduced on the Optimo 44-440 A2S.

Tthanks to the IRO technology, Used Angenieux Optimo Anamorphic 44-440 A2S , with a spherical kit option, can be converted to a spherical 25-250 T3.5 zoom by swapping the rear group and appropriate rings.

By having an Interchangeable Rear Optics system (IRO) on its newest lenses, Angénieux offers the privilege to adapt the lenses to a majority of image formats.
