This model robot is optimized for retrieval and stacking of mid to high cavitation thin-wall containers. It can be set up to run with different size Injection molders and types of molds.
This system can retrieve containers from a stack mold with ejection from the A & D mold faces.
It made ‘mini-stacks’ of parts at the robot on the conveyor, then these mini-stacks were conveyed to a downstream stack combiner. At the combiner, the mini-stacks are combined into full count stacks.
This retrieval/stacking system has two handoffs after the retrieval arm before the conveyor, so containers are always stacked mouth-down.
The system utilize high flow vacuum on the retrieval tools. This is a contrast to most side entry retrieval robots in that the others use suction cups with high pressure retrieval. The idea is: for the right application, the mold intrusion time can be reduced, if the robot movements are set up properly. This is because the high flow vacuum does not require the tool to stroke over to the parts as far as a suction cup would need to.
