“NEW” MGB Densifiers

TheMGB Densifier is a size reducing machine for bulky film or thin gauge sheet. The film or sheet is loaded into the chamber from the top of the machine in batches of 100-150 lbs. Once the material enters the hub, it comes into contact with a rotating knife that shreds it against stationary knives. This process creates frictional heat that shrinks the bulky film into small “popcorn” like pieces. Water is added for cooling and the steam is vented off resulting in dry dense material. The material is then ready to be used as is or for pelletizing, depending on the application.
The densifier cutting chamber is constructed of 3/8″ thick, wear-resistant steel. The cutting chamber is 40″ in diameter and 60″ tall. The bottom of the cutting chamber is constructed of 1″ solid steel plate for additional structural integrity. Ten replaceable bed knives are incorporated into the cutting chamber with one rotating knife. The rotating knife is directly coupled to a 250 or 300hp AC motor (480/3/60). The bottom seal of the shaft is a special design to prevent leakage and entry of water to the motor.
