The top-of-the-line Sony XDCAM HD422 series is being embraced around the world for its file-based recording capabilities and reliable, reusable, high-capacity Professional Disc media. Using the newly developed MPEG HD422 codec, the XDCAM HD422 series offers high-quality video and audio recording with 1920 x 1080 image resolution and eight channels of uncompressed 24-bit audio. Now Sony is pleased to introduce a major addition to the series: the PDW-F800 camcorder.

The PDW-F800 offers the flexibility of multi-format recording as standard, including SD recording and a frame rate of 23.98P in 1080 mode. This camcorder is an upgraded version of the PDW-700 model. Functional enhancements, including slow and fast motion functions (increasing and decreasing frame rate during recording), make the PDW-F800 perfect for TV drama and film productions, natural history shows, documentaries, sports broadcasts, and ENG applications.
