These wonderful TLS Super Baltar Lens Set lenses were the industry standard during the 1950s through the 1970s on films like The Godfather. These TLS Super Baltar Lens Set are great on digital and they really «take the edge off» digital sensors.

The TLS lenses have a Cam follower design and common 110mm fronts. The mechanical action on these TLS Super Baltar Lens Set is incredible just like a modern Cooke S4 lens, smooth with many spaced out focus marks.

These are probably the best lenses for digital sensors and render skin beautifully. TLS Super Baltar Lens Set have a warm color palette and cool flare from the cobalt (hence the «balt»ar name) glass. Its Super Cinephor projection lens had been the industry standard since its introduction in 1922. Bausch & Lomb Super Baltar TLS helped revolutionize the movie-going experience in 1952 with the introduction of the CinemaScope lens by 20th Century Fox. The new technology was so popular that MGM and Warner Brothers quickly took it up as well. In 1955, the Motion Picture Academy of America honored Bausch & Lomb with an Academy Award – the Oscar – for its contributions to the industry.
