The CineAlta SONY PMW-F55 Second Hand camera records spectacular images thanks to its 8.9 megapixel effective resolution Sony 4K image sensor. Get excellent dynamic range, the widest color gamut, and pristine image quality, whether you're shooting in HD, 2K, QFHD, or 4K.

Multiple recording formats include MPEG-2 HD422, MPEG4 SStP, XAVC 2K/HD, XAVC QFHD/4K, and 16-bit 2K/4K RAW*. It is possible to simultaneously record to internal high-speed SxS PRO+ memory cards and also record 2K/4K RAW to the stylish AXSM™ memory cards thanks to the optional attachable AXS-R5 recorder. This recorder has been specifically designed to fit seamlessly into the F55 and F5 cameras. The AXS-R5 also supports high-speed recording of up to 240 fps in 2K RAW and 60 fps in 4K RAW. Direct recording to Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD codecs is also available as an option.**

Lightweight modular design maximizes 2D and 3D versatility
The SONY PMW-F55 Second Hand is extremely small, lightweight and modular, allowing you to create the right setup for every job, or every take. The camera includes caching capabilities and has an easily accessible custom user menu at the top of the settings menu. In addition to the variety of formats and internal and external recording options, a number of viewfinders can be attached, including the revolutionary optional OLED DVF-EL100 viewfinder. You can also attach a PL mount, FZ mount, and still camera lenses, including Sony's second generation PL mount lenses, plus ultra-long-lasting olivine (lithium iron phosphate) batteries. The frame is slightly wider than a typical PL mount Prime lens, perfect for 3D rigs. The optional shoulder mount (CBK-55BK) provides greater ergonomics, flexibility and ease of use over the shoulder.

Firmware update to version 5.0
Firmware version 5.0 improves the functionality of the SONY PMW-F55 Second Hand. Updated features include: DNR (noise suppression) in Cine-EI mode; A/B memory white balance in custom mode; Color bars on/off; Viewfinder magnification on/off; FPS (STEP) modifiable with the menu dial (press for 2 seconds); dual speed display setting is maintained while HFR is turned off; and simultaneous recording in SStP 422 SQ at 59.94i (SStP and MPEG 50). Version 5.0 also supports other codecs, including ProRes 4444*, with the installation of the optional CBK-55PD codec card. In addition, EI value can be assigned to the Gain switch in Cine-EI** mode and 3200K/4300K/5500K to the White A/B/Preset switch in Cine-EI** mode. Wireless audio settings can be configured through the “WRR”** page.
