The TECAN Robotic Sample Processor (RSP) is a fully automated sample processor featuring two independently programmed pipetting arms. Each arm is capable of aspirating, dispensing, or diluting operations at any position on the instrument's worktable. Pipetting positions can be specified with a precision of less than 0.25 mm in X/Y/Z directions. Liquid volumes of 5 ul or grater can be transferred with an accuracy of 5 ul or greater can be transferred with an accuracy of ±1 percent and with a coefficient of variations of 1 percent or less.

The dual robotic arms of the RSP can operate in unison to double system throughput, or can be independently programmed for complex, multi-task procedures. The RSP offers a large worktable (740 x 300mm) which can accommodate virtually any type of rack or tray for reagents and samples.Optional hardware accessories include: multi-channel pippette tips, peristaltic or vacuum pumps, bar code wand, specially designed racks and adapter plates, magnetic stirrers, and additional external valves.
