Listing description

The Wilbartec glass forming kiln is a flatbed type with two bases and a hood type heating unit.
All elements are A1 grade and capable of firing to 1250 degrees Celsius. The firing process utilises a multi-step, multi-program controller complete with ramp and hold phases.

Main Components:

Kiln Bases: Refractory brick filled steel frame to accommodate the mold material and the glass panel. Normally, the two bases are used so that one base can be prepared while the other base is in the process of a heat treatment.

Kiln Hood: Fiber insulated steel structure, which holds all heating elements, with vent holes.

Transfer Frame: Steel frame set on caster wheels. The frame contains electric lifting gear enabling the hood to be lifted and transferred between the bases.

Control Unit: Controls heating and cooling process via a fully pre-programed controller. Bentrup TC 507 Controller mounted on the transport frame.

Power: 3 Phase, = 50amp each (415).

Construction:

The kiln is fabricated from square tubing, which has a very high strength to weight ratio. The bases and transfer frame are coated with a tough two pack epoxy resin industrial grade paint.

The hood is powder coated for a finish which provides cover into every small gap. Final cladding of the hood is done with stainless steel cladding panels.

The elements are made from Kanthal A1 wire, which is rated to 1300EC. Therefore, they are not expected to be replaced during the life of the kiln unit.

The kiln bed fire brick base size: 63” x 120”
